The Final Campaign of American Parties Ahead of the Midterm Congressional Elections

The two main parties in the United States, the Republican Party and the Democratic Party, along with their candidates and political figures, are conducting their final election campaign ahead of the voting for the midterm congressional elections. Citizens of the United States will head to the polls on Tuesday, November 6 (U.S. time) to participate in the elections known as the 'midterm elections.' The outcome of this voting will determine which of the two main parties will hold power in the House of Representatives and the Senate. The midterm elections are so named because they occur in the middle of a four-year presidential term; however, all seats in the House of Representatives and 33 out of 100 Senate seats (generally 33 regular seats and two special seats) are up for vote. The United States Congress consists of two chambers: the House of Representatives and the Senate. The result of this election could either be a victory for one party in both chambers or a victory for either party in one of the congressional chambers; this means that either Donald Trump's party will maintain power in Congress - as they currently hold the majority - or the Democratic Party will succeed in gaining a majority in one or both chambers. Typically, the election results in several states known as blue (Democratic) or red (Republican) are predictable, and citizens usually send representatives from one of the parties to Congress or the White House. Consequently, in many cases, states where the political approach is not strongly aligned with a specific party determine the final voting outcome. Currently, Republicans hold 23 more seats than Democrats in the House of Representatives and one more seat in the Senate. There is speculation that Democrats may have a chance of winning in the House of Representatives. A nationwide poll on November 4, conducted by ABC News and The Washington Post, indicates a 50% to 43% favorability for Democrats over Republicans in the House of Representatives. However, in more detailed and state-specific polls, many candidates are in tight races, and in recent years, election results have not necessarily aligned with common polling trends. Despite the fact that midterm elections typically draw fewer citizens to the polls, the high early voting statistics suggest that U.S. citizens seem determined to break the common stereotype, and a high turnout is expected. U.S. media report that the outcome of the voting on Tuesday will have significant implications for the government's work and has effectively become a referendum on the policies of current President Donald Trump. The U.S. economic growth rate reached 3.5% in the third quarter of the year, indicating a good status, while Trump's political and social orientations could also become a significant factor in the voting outcome on Tuesday. In addition to the congressional elections, nearly 40 governorships are also up for vote, which could have widespread implications across almost all of America in terms of state policies.
