The Gathering of Automotive Giants in Detroit

The Detroit Auto Show, considered the main automotive exhibition in North America, is active from January 20 to January 28. What important products were introduced at this exhibition? Volkswagen showcased its latest urban sedan model, the Jetta, at Detroit 2018. The Jetta uses Volkswagen's MQB platform, similar to the Golf and Audi A3. Notable technologies and systems in this vehicle include emergency braking, blind spot warning, smart cruise control, and an infotainment system compatible with CarPlay and Android Auto. The 2019 Jetta features a 1.4-liter turbocharged engine with 147 horsepower and 249 Nm of torque, starting at a base price of $18,500. South Korean company Kia Motors introduced its full-size SUV, the Telluride, at the exhibition. However, the highlight of Kia's products was the new Cerato model. While Saipa in Iran continues to produce the 2008 Kia Cerato as a new vehicle, Kia introduced two generations beyond this model at the show. The cabin of this vehicle features an 8-inch display equipped with an infotainment system, allowing users to connect to the Cerato's multimedia via Android Auto or CarPlay. The 2019 Cerato is equipped with a new CVT transmission and a 2-liter 4-cylinder engine, producing a maximum power of 147 horsepower and 178 Nm of torque. Hyundai, allied with Kia Motors, also unveiled its new product at the exhibition. Hyundai introduced the 2019 Veloster N at the Detroit show, which is set to be sold in the U.S. market by the end of this year. The new Veloster is equipped with a 2-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, capable of producing a maximum power of 275 horsepower and 353 Nm of torque, and features a 6-speed manual transmission. Ford unveiled the special Bullitt model at the Detroit show. In 1968, Steve McQueen made the green Ford Mustang famous in the movie Bullitt. The 68 Mustang GT Fastback in the film was equipped with a powerful V8 engine producing 325 horsepower. Now, after half a century since the Bullitt film and the 68 Fastback Mustang, Ford has presented the 2019 model at the Detroit show to commemorate the 50th anniversary. The V8 engine of this model produces a maximum power of 475 horsepower with a displacement of 5 liters. Ford also unveiled a powerful pickup truck at the show. At the 2018 Detroit Auto Show, Ford introduced the Ranger pickup. The 2019 Ranger features a new and updated design language and has a rugged appearance. The latest Ranger model uses a 2.3-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with 310 horsepower and 474 Nm of torque, equipped with a 10-speed transmission. The 2019 Ranger will be available in two models, rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive, named FX2 and FX4. In response to Ford's product, Chevrolet also unveiled its new pickup. At the 2018 Detroit Auto Show, Ford presented the new Ranger model. The Silverado is one of Chevrolet's product lines that has been produced since 1998. This pickup uses a 3-liter inline 6-cylinder engine and two V8 engines with displacements of 5 and 6 liters. At the 2018 Detroit Auto Show, Toyota unveiled a concept vehicle named Toyota FT-4X, which will be larger than the FJ Cruiser.
