The 'Jelly Man' Executed in Shiraz

The death sentence of a notorious thief known as the 'Jelly Man' was carried out on Sunday morning, June 16, in Shiraz, in public, on charges of corruption on earth and creating insecurity. According to the IRNA news agency, Amin D., 22 years old, known as the 'Jelly Man', illegally entered the homes of many citizens to commit theft and sexual assault. He earned the nickname 'Jelly Man' because he would remove his clothes and grease his body with black oil to escape easily if caught. The accused threatened his victims with a blade and harassed them. He confessed to 100 cases of illegal entry into homes. This young man had also been arrested two years ago for mobile theft, but the complainant had refrained from filing a complaint about the sexual assault due to embarrassment. Officials in Fars province had previously announced that he was arrested on September 7, 2015, and due to the sensitivity of the case, it was examined specially. The public prosecutor of Shiraz, Ali Salehi, had previously stated that the accused was identified and arrested through blood, hair, and clothing remnants at the crime scene. According to reports, the accused secretly entered people's homes from midnight until 5:30 AM. Reports indicate that on Sunday morning, another accused named Mojtaba G. was also hanged alongside Amin D.; Mojtaba G. was charged with 'committing rape before attempting murder.'
