The Lawyer of Yekta Naser Describes the Events at the Criminal Court; We Didn't Understand What Happened

Touhid Bakhtiari, Yekta Naser's lawyer, has stated regarding the events that occurred during the Nowruz holidays for this actress, "I didn't understand why we ended up at the Criminal Court." The lawyer mentioned that certain preconditions were set for his client at the Criminal Court, including the requirement to remove a post that was published and to commit to returning their shared child to Mr. Hadi every week. Bakhtiari emphasized that he received a call from the Cultural and Media Court stating that the complaint against Mr. Hadi had been referred to them, and they did not understand why they went to the Criminal Court. According to Bakhtiari, the visit to the Criminal Court was not based on any order or notification, and it was unclear why the case was brought there and why Yekta Naser was summoned by phone and on what basis a commitment was taken from her. On the first day of Farvardin, a video of Yekta Naser, a cinema and television actress, crying on Instagram about the 'kidnapping' of her young daughter, Sophia, by her ex-husband went viral on social media. Following this, Manoochehr Hadi, a director and producer in cinema and television, who some consider 'affiliated with the Islamic Republic,' accused his ex-wife of 'emotional distress and reaction' and wrote that his daughter, Sophia, would stay with him for four days. The 'Mizan' news agency, affiliated with the judiciary of the Islamic Republic, also claimed in response to this news that 'the mentioned issue is not about abduction or kidnapping.' After both individuals visited the Criminal Court, Judge Mohammad Shahriari, head of the Tehran Criminal Court, shared a photo on social media, stating: 'Today, these two dear artists resolved the issue regarding their shared child at the Criminal Court.' In response to this post, Yekta Naser stated that 'Mr. Shahriari and his esteemed colleagues at the Criminal Court kindly advised me after a lot of counseling and warnings about motherhood instincts and responsibilities, and they explicitly obtained my promise that neither I nor my lawyer would speak out so as not to disturb the royal essence of His Excellency Hadi.' Manoochehr Hadi, rejecting the accusation of 'kidnapping' his child, stated that he received his daughter 'by direct order' of the court.
