The Military Branch of 'Kodar' Reports the Death of 'Several Members of the IRGC'

The military branch of the 'Free and Democratic Society of the East', known as 'Kodar', claimed responsibility for the attack on the positions of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and Basij forces near Sardasht and Marivan. In a statement, the 'Eastern Defense Units' emphasized that during several 'retaliatory' operations in the Rabet region and also in Jandaran, part of Sardasht, as well as in the Golchidar area near Marivan, at least 26 members of the IRGC and Basij forces were killed. In recent days, the IRGC reported the death of 12 'PJAK members' in Kermanshah province. The military branch of Kodar confirmed this news a few days later. PJAK has introduced itself as part of the 'Kodar' system in recent years. Kodar is an entity that announced its existence two years ago, and PJAK considers itself a member of this network. Currently, the 'Eastern Defense Units' introduce themselves as the military branch of Kodar. The IRGC has not yet reacted to this statement and the possible deaths of its forces. However, a few days ago, the IRGC's headquarters reported the 'neutralization' of an attack on the Golchidar area near Marivan. A Kurdish citizen residing in Sardasht told Radio Farda that a few nights ago, one of the Basij-affiliated centers in Rabet was attacked, and sounds of explosions and clashes were heard in parts of the city. It is said that the recent clashes between the 'Eastern Defense Units' and the 'IRGC' have been among the most intense confrontations between these two forces in the past two years. Furthermore, in recent months, other clashes have occurred between the IRGC and the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan, as well as the Kurdistan Democratic Party, during which several members of both sides were killed. The Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan had previously announced the beginning of a new round of armed activities in Iranian Kurdistan. In recent months, Iranian officials have mainly accused Kurdish parties of collaborating with Saudi Arabia and other countries, but this accusation has generally been denied by the Kurdish parties.
