The People's Mujahedin Organization Demonstrates in Paris on the Anniversary of the 1979 Revolution

On Saturday, February 9, the People's Mujahedin Organization held a gathering in Paris. Members of the organization demanded that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps be placed on the European Union's list of terrorist organizations. During this gathering, held to commemorate the anniversary of the 1979 Revolution, Maryam Rajavi, the President of the National Council of Resistance, delivered a remote video speech, stating that the current regime in Iran would fall, referencing the ongoing crisis in Iran and recent protests against the Islamic Republic. Additionally, several current and former officials from France and Belgium emphasized the need to confront the Islamic Republic of Iran. Guy Verhofstadt, former Prime Minister of Belgium, pointed out the failures of the Islamic Republic in the Middle East, including the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad's government, and called for the reinstatement of UN sanctions against Iran and for the Revolutionary Guard to be listed as a foreign terrorist organization by the EU. Jacques Boutault, Deputy Mayor of Central Paris, was another speaker who condemned the high number of executions of Iranians by the Islamic Republic over the past few decades. The People's Mujahedin Organization also claimed about secret nuclear activities in Shahrud and Semnan. Ramesh Sepehrrad stated that the experience of Assad's fall showed that the opposition must be in the streets. Speeches by American senators from both parties supported the people of Iran and opposed the Islamic Republic.
