The PS752 Flight Coordination Group Files Complaint Against the Islamic Republic at the International Court of Justice

Canada and the PS752 Flight Coordination Group have registered the details of their complaint against the Islamic Republic of Iran for the downing of the Ukrainian passenger plane at the International Court of Justice. The Association of Families of Victims of Flight PS752 announced this news on Thursday, October 18, on the social media platform X, stating that the PS752 Flight Coordination Group (Canada, Ukraine, Sweden, and the UK) has officially submitted the details of their complaint to the International Court of Justice against the Islamic Republic. According to the association, this action is part of several legal processes that have so far included cases in the International Civil Aviation Organization, the International Court of Justice, and the International Criminal Court. Accordingly, the Islamic Republic has one year to submit its documents and evidence to the International Court of Justice. The Association of Families of Victims of Flight PS752 emphasized that the families of the victims continue to demand the opening of a criminal case by the Canadian Federal Police. A Ukrainian passenger plane with 176 occupants was shot down by missiles from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps shortly after taking off from Imam Khomeini International Airport on January 8, 2020. All passengers on the plane were killed. The victims included dozens of nationals from Iran and Canada, as well as from Afghanistan, Ukraine, the UK, and Germany. The Islamic Republic of Iran initially did not take responsibility for the downing of the plane, but after evidence was presented by other countries and protests from the families of the victims, it accepted responsibility but attributed it to human error. The lawyer for the 'Ukrainian Plane' case stated: We have filed complaints against the highest ranks of the armed forces, but they have not addressed them. Two fathers seeking justice for the victims of the Ukrainian plane told Voice of America: The violation of the ruling in the Supreme Court of the Islamic Republic is a 'ridiculous show.' The families of the victims of Flight PS752 stated: The presence of Javad Zarif at the graves of our loved ones is shameless.
