The ruling of the 'Dispute Resolution Board' regarding Minou Khalighi has not yet been communicated to the Ministry of Interior

The spokesperson for Iran's Ministry of Interior announced that the decision of the 'High Dispute Resolution Board and the Regulation of Relations among the Three Branches of Government' regarding the status of Minou Khalighi, the third elected representative from Isfahan in the Parliament, has not yet been communicated to this ministry, and there has been no change in Ms. Khalighi's status. According to the Iranian Labor News Agency, ILNA, Hossein Ali Amiri, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior, said on Wednesday, May 29, 'I have also heard news through the media regarding the decision of the Dispute Resolution Board, but no official decision has been communicated to us yet.' Mr. Amiri emphasized that 'there has been no change in Ms. Khalighi's status.' He added, 'We regularly hold meetings and discussions with members of the Guardian Council on various occasions, but no new issues have been communicated to us.' The matter of the 'annulment' of the votes for the third elected representative from Isfahan in the Islamic Consultative Assembly was recently referred to the High Dispute Resolution Board, and following that, conservative media reported that this board also ruled in favor of the Guardian Council. However, no official report from this board or other institutions regarding this matter has been published yet. In another part of his remarks, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior mentioned that 'individuals and websites' that published images attributed to Minou Khalighi have been identified, and the Tehran Public Prosecutor's Office is 'following up on the issue.' While hijab-less photos attributed to Ms. Khalighi have been circulated on social media in recent weeks, she has strongly denied any association with them. Meanwhile, according to news websites, Hamid Talebi, a former reporter for the Fars News Agency, was arrested in connection with the publication of these photos on the evening of Tuesday, May 21, and was released after a week. Some websites have referred to Mr. Talebi as the manager of the 'Qaychi' channel on Telegram, which published hijab-less photos of a woman and introduced her as Minou Khalighi. Some members of Parliament, including Fatemeh Alia, and some conservative media outlets, including Kayhan newspaper, have protested against Hamid Talebi's arrest, claiming that these images were previously published on a Facebook page managed from outside Iran, and Mr. Talebi merely reshared them. Meanwhile, Abbas Jafari Dolatabadi, the Tehran prosecutor, announced on Sunday, May 26, that Ms. Khalighi has been 'invited' to the prosecutor's office for 'clarification' regarding these claims. Mr. Jafari Dolatabadi did not provide further details about the 'invitation' to Ms. Khalighi.
