According to reports published on Thursday, April 19, in Israeli media citing high-ranking security officials, the establishment of the new American base 'in a location in central Israel' is 'in advanced stages'. This base will be linked to the X-band radar system in Dimona, where Israel's nuclear reactor is located. According to these reports, the American base will be operated by U.S. military personnel and will be 'constantly active'. Meanwhile, according to Israel Radio, the joint military exercise of the Israeli and American armies, which aims to 'strengthen missile defense capabilities', began on Thursday. The reports state that the air defense coverage of Israel with American equipment and the strengthening of defensive control centers and determining military strategies in the event of a missile attack on Israel are the focus of the exercises. According to the reports, General Timothy Ray, the commander of U.S. forces, told Israeli media at the start of the exercise: 'America's steadfastness alongside Israel and defending this country has been an inseparable part of U.S. policies and this unwavering principle will continue in the future.' Israeli Colonel Suika Khaymovich also stated at the beginning of the joint exercises that preparations for the 'JC 18' exercise took a year and a half.
