The U.S. Criticizes the Islamic Republic Again for Supporting Russia in the Ukraine War

On Tuesday, February 20, the U.S. National Security Advisor criticized the Islamic Republic once again for its support of Russia in the war with Ukraine during a press briefing. Jake Sullivan stated that Iran has consistently provided drones and other military equipment to Russia since the beginning of the war. He also noted the increase in North Korean assistance to Russia, including the shipment of short-range ballistic missiles to Moscow, emphasizing that the U.S. is closely monitoring the activities of the Iranian and North Korean governments and keeping its allies informed. In another part of the press conference, the National Security Advisor supported the passage of a foreign aid bill in Congress, stating that this bill helps Israel defend itself against threats from the Islamic Republic and Iran-backed militants such as Hamas. Sullivan concluded by mentioning the U.S. strategic competition with China and North Korean threats, highlighting that the bill would strengthen the defensive capabilities of U.S. allies and partners in Asia to address these challenges.
