The U.S. Participates in the Joint Military Exercise 'Bright Star' in Egypt

The joint military exercise 'Bright Star' will take place from September 9 to 23 at the Mohamed Naguib military base in Egypt, featuring the military forces of the United States, Egypt, and allies under the U.S. Central Command. Central Command, known as CENTCOM, stated in a release that approximately 1,500 U.S. military personnel will participate in the exercise, which focuses on regional security and cooperation while enhancing interoperability in conventional and unconventional warfare scenarios. According to the statement, the exercise will include military training, field exercises, a command post focusing on military decision-making processes, and a leadership conference at the senior commander level. General Michael Kurilla, the commander of CENTCOM, said, 'The Bright Star exercise has long been a hallmark of military partnership in CENTCOM's area of responsibility. This year's exercise demonstrates the military cooperation between the U.S. and Egypt and deepens the collaboration of all partner nations.' The 'Bright Star' exercise, held every two years since 1980, has played a leading role in combating terrorism, regional security, and fighting extremism.
