The 'Wall of Kindness' Has Arrived in Italy

Students at the Marymount International School in Rome have launched a wall called the 'Wall of Kindness' that allows individuals to donate clothing and other necessities to those in need. This initiative is similar to actions that have emerged in several cities in Iran in recent months. Italian news agencies report that the students' initiative was inspired by a similar movement in Iran. The slogan of this wall is akin to its Iranian counterpart: 'Take if you need, leave if you don't.' Beyond Rome, the Wall of Kindness has also reached other cities in Italy, such as Parma, where this idea has been implemented in the historical center of the city. Italy is not the only country that has adopted this idea from Iran; the Wall of Kindness was established in some neighborhoods of Kabul at the end of last year, and prior to that, Peshawar also welcomed a Wall of Kindness. The Wall of Kindness is a social initiative that allows citizens to help each other directly. According to Iranian media reports, the movement began in the city of Mashhad when an individual hung several coats on nails on a wall, which sparked the idea. After photos of this were shared on social media, the movement gradually spread to other cities. Some time before the Wall of Kindness was launched, a project was initiated where a refrigerator was placed on the street, allowing citizens to leave food and other supplies for those in need. The Wall of Kindness has attracted the attention of many non-Persian media outlets, such as BBC, CNN, and The Guardian.
