The Widespread Protests: The Achilles' Heel of the Islamic Republic

The widespread protests have undoubtedly secured a prominent place in the political calendar of Iran on July 18. Four years ago, on this day, our dear students, as pioneers of reason and awareness, bravely rose up against ignorance and the tyranny of religious despotism, shouting for freedom as the voice of the Iranian people and resonating their call across the globe. With the support of a vast number of politically aware citizens, they tore down the illusions and false hopes of those among the masses who had believed in the reformists. July 18 is forever recorded in the history of Iran as the anniversary of the heroic struggles of students and a symbol of the crimes of the Islamic Republic regime. Now, the fourth anniversary of this historic day approaches. Over the past four years since this glorious uprising, the tyrannical rulers of the Islamic Republic have repeatedly and increasingly violently crushed any civil and protest demonstrations, hoping to stifle the cries for freedom of the children of this homeland and the imprisoned nation of Iran. Such delusions are in vain! Despite all these fantasies and measures, in recent weeks, once again, students and subsequently the great nation of Iran have risen up, shouting their rightful demands for freedom and the establishment of a democratic government every day and night in Tehran and other cities. This time, the cursed Islamic Republic resorted to suppression and intimidation, yet the extent of the protests has forced the Islamic regime to retreat, to the point where, to distract the youth and dilute the street gatherings, they invite them to pop concerts, overlooking the regulations of morality. The swift fall of the ruling regime in Iraq, led by Saddam Hussein, and the hatred that the imprisoned people of Iraq show towards the bodies of the dictator, sends a clear message to all nations under the yoke of dictatorial governments that the seemingly solid foundations of these regimes have their Achilles' heel. A proper nudge to this point is the beginning of the collapse of tyranny and despotism. The great nation of Iran is determined to deliver this nudge to the body of the regime of blood and crime on the anniversary of July 18. The Renewal Movement of Iran extends its endless greetings to all students and aware and fighting segments of the people who, with their unity and bravery, have brought the voice of the Iranian people to the ears of the world, and with immense gratitude and respect for the sacrifices of the students who have gone on hunger strike, announces that it will always stand by them with all its strength and resources, and our comrades and supporters will assist them in their struggle against the forces of evil and corruption. We invite all segments of the fighting and freedom-seeking people of Iran, especially the youth, to take advantage of the pop music concerts and renew their strength, and to participate widely in the protest ceremonies on July 18, held in Tehran and other cities, to render the regime impotent and ineffective in executing its sinister plans of repression, further weakening the shaky foundations of these rulers of wealth and power and forcing the government into more retreats. Long live Iran, long live freedom, forward to the rule of thought.
