Three Arrested and 10 Injured in Gonabadi Dervish Gathering in 'Kavar', Fars

The website 'Majzooban Noor' reported the 'arrest' of three Gonabadi dervishes and the 'injury of 10 others' during a gathering in front of the governor's office in Kavar County, Fars Province. According to this website, the gathering was held 'in protest against the arbitrary and illegal arrests of Gonabadi dervishes in various cities of Iran.' Majzooban Noor added that the gathering turned violent due to 'the intervention of security and police forces, who used tear gas, batons, and tasers.' The names of the arrested individuals are 'Zabihullah Gardpour, Abdollah Rezaian, and Mohsen Azadifar.' The website noted that the Gonabadi dervishes in Iran have 'no information on the status and whereabouts of these individuals.' It also mentioned that 10 dervishes were injured in the gathering, including one woman. The report stated that 'security and police forces, using batons and tear gas,' even 'assaulted children' participating in the gathering. Iranian officials have not yet commented on this matter. Last Tuesday, a number of Gonabadi dervishes gathered in protest against the arrest of three dervishes in front of Evin Prison, where, according to social media reports, police clashed with the protesters. However, following this clash, Faizeh Abdi Pour, Mohammad Sharifi Moghadam, and Kasra Noori, Gonabadi dervishes who had been 'violently' arrested about 10 days earlier while visiting a manager of 'Majzooban Noor' in the hospital, were released last Tuesday night. According to the report, another individual named Mohammad Reza Darvishi remains in prison, and 'there is no information on his status.' Majzooban Noor wrote that Mr. Darvishi, along with three other dervishes who have been released, had gone on a hunger strike in Evin Prison.
