Three Citizens Killed by Military Gunfire in a Village in Chabahar County

Human rights media report that "three young citizens were mistakenly killed by military gunfire in the village of Belingi in the Pirsahrab district of Chabahar County." Meanwhile, government-affiliated media identify these citizens as members of the "Jaish al-Adl" group. The "Halosh" media outlet, which covers news in Sistan and Baluchestan, reported that in the late hours of Wednesday, October 3, two "teenagers" named Shahab Jadgal, Amir Ramesh, and "another teenager," all around 18 years old, were killed by military gunfire. According to this report, "law enforcement forces mistakenly targeted these citizens in the shop after an armed confrontation with the occupants of a vehicle in front of a shop in the village of Belingi and the escape of armed individuals from behind a building." Several other military and law enforcement personnel were also killed in two attacks in Sistan and Baluchestan. The Baluch Activists Campaign reported that due to "RPG hits" and fire from "light and medium weapons," in addition to the three fatalities, two other citizens were injured and several were arrested. The Tasnim news agency, close to the Revolutionary Guards, on Thursday, October 4, labeled the deceased as "terrorists" and claimed they were affiliated with the "Jaish al-Adl" group. This media outlet and other Islamic Republic news agencies did not specify the exact location of the incident or provide details, stating that after a "several-hour confrontation," the "main team behind" the attack on the military and law enforcement personnel of the Islamic Republic in Nikshahr was "dismantled." According to domestic news agencies, on October 2, in the Bent area of Nikshahr County, following the "Compassion Festival" ceremony at the Mohsenin School in Shekhan Bent, an attack by unknown armed individuals on law enforcement vehicles in the area resulted in the deaths of four people and injuries to two others. The Tasnim news agency identified the deceased in this attack as Parviz Kadhkhodai, commander of the Bent Revolutionary Guards, Youssef Shirani, head of the Bent city council, and soldiers Jawad Sadati and Majib Baluchi. According to this report, all four victims of this incident were Sunni residents of the area. In recent days, reports have emerged of armed attacks on military and law enforcement personnel of the Islamic Republic and checkpoints in various parts of Sistan and Baluchestan, with domestic Iranian media attributing these attacks to the "Jaish al-Adl" group. This paramilitary group, opposed to the Iranian government, is recognized as a "terrorist organization" by the Islamic Republic and several Western governments, including the United States.
