Three Political Activists Sentenced to Over 61 Years in Prison

The Tehran Revolutionary Court has sentenced three political activists to a total of more than 61 years in prison and social restrictions. According to human rights sources, the charges against Reza Mohammad Hosseini, Mahbubeh Rezaei, and Samaneh Norouz Moradi include 'membership in opposition groups aimed at undermining national security,' 'gathering and colluding to commit crimes against national security,' and 'propaganda activities against the regime.' According to HRANA, the news agency of the Human Rights Activists in Iran, Mahbubeh Rezaei has been sentenced to 26 years and five months, Reza Mohammad Hosseini to 21 years and eight months, and Samaneh Norouz Moradi to 13 years and nine months in prison. Additionally, the supplementary punishment for these three former political prisoners includes a two-year ban on residing in Tehran and a two-year prohibition on membership in political or social parties and activities in cyberspace. Based on the issued verdict, the maximum sentences for these political activists will be seven years and nine months for Mahbubeh Rezaei and Reza Mohammad Hosseini, and six years and three months for Samaneh Norouz Moradi. Furthermore, HRANA reports that Reza Mohammad Hosseini and Samaneh Norouz Moradi were arrested in May, while Mahbubeh Rezaei was arrested in June of this year. Currently, Reza Mohammad Hosseini is imprisoned in Ghezelsar Prison in Karaj, while Mahbubeh Rezaei and Samaneh Norouz Moradi are held in Evin Prison.
