According to Cameron, the captain of the Titanic also ignored warnings about the presence of an iceberg, which ultimately led to the sinking of the ship at a depth of four thousand meters in the Atlantic Ocean. Cameron, who had previously gone to see the wreck of the Titanic at the ocean's depths before making the film, told Reuters that he had heard multiple times about safety issues concerning the Titan submarine. He expressed regret, saying, 'I wish I had warned more seriously... I knew this was a terrible idea, and I wish I had spoken about it.' He mentioned that warnings had been given about the safety of the Titan submarine. One of the stakeholders of OceanGate, the owner of the Titan submarine, had warned about its safety a year ago when he left the company. The Titan submersible, which is 6.5 meters long, began its journey with five passengers on Sunday, June 18, but communication was lost less than two hours later. After several days of searching, on Thursday, Coast Guard Commander John Mauger confirmed that the submersible had been destroyed at a depth of 500 meters from the Titanic due to water pressure, and all its passengers had perished. The last remaining hours for the discovery and rescue of the Titan submarine passengers ended tragically; the owner of the submarine stated, 'It is believed that the five passengers of the submarine are dead.'
