Tomaj Salehi's Lawyer Denies 'Spreading Falsehoods' Charge; Security Agency: Tomaj to Be Transferred to Isfahan Prison on Friday

While Bultan News, linked to security agencies, reported the transfer of this protesting singer to Isfahan prison on Friday, November 10, Tomaj Salehi's lawyer confirmed his client's statements about filing a complaint against some officials in the case and denied the charge of 'spreading falsehoods' against Tomaj Salehi. Amir Reisiian tweeted, referring to the complaint filed against the General Directorate of Intelligence of Isfahan Province as the case's authority, stating, 'So Tomaj did not say anything false.' This lawyer also told Shargh Network, 'If announcing the news of the complaint led to the charge of spreading falsehoods and the arrest of Tomaj Salehi, then I should also be arrested as the case's lawyer, because I announced this news in an interview with Shargh before Mr. Tomaj Salehi did.' The Mizan news agency, affiliated with the judiciary, claimed that Tomaj Salehi's statements about filing a complaint against certain individuals were 'false' and attributed his renewed arrest to the charge of 'spreading falsehoods and disturbing public opinion.' Tomaj Salehi's lawyer also questioned the arrest of his client and two others, asking, 'If Tomaj has recently lied, why have those who were with him today also been arrested?' Tomaj Salehi was violently and 'brutally' arrested again by 'armed agents' of the government in Babol on Thursday, December 9, less than two weeks after being released from prison. According to Tomaj Salehi's account on X (formerly Twitter), agents transferred him to an 'unknown location in Babol.' The message continued, stating, 'The responsibility for the life of this protesting rapper lies with the Islamic Republic.' Tomaj Salehi, a rap singer supporting the protesters, had been arrested during last year's nationwide protests in Iran and was released on bail from Dastgerd prison in Isfahan on November 27 after more than a year of imprisonment. His temporary release was welcomed by human rights organizations. Amnesty International expressed satisfaction with Tomaj Salehi's temporary release on November 29 and called for the removal of all charges against him and his 'unconditional' release. However, Yiwan Ri, a member of the German parliament and Tomaj Salehi's political sponsor, recently warned in an interview with Voice of America about the danger facing this protesting singer.
