Tribute to Majid Majidi at the Asian Festival in Rome

A number of Majid Majidi's films will be showcased in a tribute and retrospective of this talented Iranian director at the Asian Festival in Rome from November 6 to 13 (Aban 15 to 22). Majidi, born in 1959 in Tehran, began his artistic career in the early 1980s by acting in films such as 'Toojih', 'Estiazeh', 'Death of Another', 'Two Blind Eyes', 'Boycott', 'Firing Squad', 'To Another Border', 'In Search of a Hero', and 'Swimming in Winter'. Later, in the 1990s, after making several short films, he directed significant feature films such as 'Baduk', 'Father', 'Children of Heaven', 'Color of God', and 'Rain'. The last three films are considered timeless classics in the history of Iranian cinema, and 'Children of Heaven' was nominated for the Best Foreign Language Film Oscar in 1997. Previously, the National Museum of Cinema in Italy held a tribute program titled 'On the Roads of Kiarostami', showcasing all of Abbas Kiarostami's artistic works from September 10 to October 12. According to the Iranian Students' News Agency (ISNA), during the tribute to Majidi in Rome, feature films such as 'Baduk', 'Father', 'Children of Heaven', 'Color of God', 'Rain', and the documentary 'Barefoot to Herat' will be screened.
