Trump Advisor: The President-Elect Does Not Intend to Pursue the Clinton Case

One of Donald Trump's advisors announced that the President-Elect of the United States does not intend to pursue the case regarding Hillary Clinton's personal emails and the Clinton Foundation. This statement comes as Donald Trump had promised during his campaign that if he became president, Hillary Clinton would be imprisoned for using her personal email for work and confidential matters. Kellyanne Conway, one of Trump's close advisors, stated in an interview with MSNBC that 'the President-Elect... has no desire to pursue these allegations....' Donald Trump had explicitly stated in his second debate with Clinton in October that he would instruct the Attorney General to investigate Clinton's emails during her tenure as Secretary of State. Clinton responded to Trump by saying, 'It is very fortunate that no one with Donald Trump's character is enforcing the law in our country.' Trump replied to Hillary, saying, 'Because you will be in jail.' Kellyanne Conway mentioned in her interview that Hillary Clinton needs to 'understand that the majority of Americans do not see her as honest and trustworthy.' Conway further stated, 'But if Donald Trump can help change Clinton's behavior, it would be a positive step.' She added, 'Donald Trump is currently thinking about many things and is preparing for the presidency of the United States, and things that have an electoral flavor are not on his mind.' Hillary Clinton has blamed her election loss on James Comey, the former FBI director. Comey reopened the investigation into Clinton's emails less than two weeks before the election but announced two days before the election that no new information had been found in those emails. In this context, the FBI 'received authorization for new investigations related to Clinton's emails.'
