Trump Campaign: Allegations Made by Women Are Fabricated

Three American women have accused Donald Trump, the Republican candidate, of 'inappropriate touching' in interviews with two publications. Trump's campaign and he himself have labeled these accusations as 'false' and 'imaginary.' The New York Times reported on October 13 that two American women claim Trump had inappropriate physical relations with them. One of the allegations dates back three decades and was made by Jessica Leeds. According to Ms. Leeds, Trump sat next to her on a flight to New York; after an hour, he began touching her and attempted to grope her under her clothing. Ms. Leeds says she had to change her seat and sit elsewhere. She also stated that she did not file a complaint with the airline because at that time, in the 1970s and early 1980s, such harassment against businesswomen was not uncommon. Another woman, Rachel Crooks, who spoke with the New York Times, alleged that in 2005, Trump suddenly began kissing her in the elevator of the 'Trump Building,' where she was working in a real estate office. Crooks said she introduced herself to Trump in the elevator and shook his hand. Trump, who was a well-known businessman and television personality at the time, did not let go of her hand and suddenly began kissing her neck and lips. The year 2005 is also when a controversial video of Trump and his remarks about women was recorded during a television program. In this video, the New York billionaire stated, 'When you're a star, you can do anything you want with women.' Crooks mentioned that she told her sister and her sister's boyfriend about the incident on the same day. Both individuals also spoke with the New York Times. Both women who made these allegations have stated that they will vote for Hillary Clinton in the upcoming presidential election. Another report published the same day in the Palm Beach Post in Florida mentioned Mindy McGillivray, a 36-year-old woman from the state, who said a similar incident occurred between her and Trump in 2003. Ms. McGillivray stated that she did not report the incident to the authorities but told several friends and family members. A man also recalled that she had shared this story with him during those years. According to Ms. McGillivray, the incident occurred during a Ray Charles concert. The Republican candidate's campaign and Trump himself have denied these allegations. Trump told the New York Times that neither of the incidents described in the newspaper are true. A spokesperson for the campaign stated in a statement that 'the entire article is completely fictional.' Regarding the allegations made in Florida, the campaign said the story is 'false and devoid of any honesty.' According to the campaign, 'It is completely ridiculous to think that a well-known leading businessman with an excellent track record of hiring women as employees in his companies would engage in the alleged actions in these stories. The fact that these stories are surfacing decades after they supposedly occurred speaks to the essence of the matter.' The voting for the United States presidential election, primarily contested between Donald Trump of the Republican Party and Hillary Clinton of the Democratic Party, will take place in three weeks. The next President of the United States will take office in early 2017.
