Trump: I Am Not Confident in Full Implementation of Gaza Ceasefire Agreement

Donald Trump, the President of the United States, stated that he is not confident in the adherence to the ceasefire agreement and the release of hostages in Gaza at all stages. In response to reporters' questions while signing executive orders in his office, he said, "This is not our war; it's their war. I'm not sure, but I think the other side has been severely weakened." Trump described Gaza as a "destroyed area" and said it needs to be rebuilt in a different way. He noted Gaza's geographical location on the Mediterranean coast and its favorable climate, adding, "Incredible things can be done there." In response to another question about the possibility of U.S. aid for the reconstruction of Gaza, he said, "Maybe I will help." Regarding the governance after the Gaza war, Trump emphasized that Hamas cannot manage the region because "not only did they not have good management, but most of their members have been killed." Trump also stated that if he were president, the October 7 Hamas attack would not have happened, as Iran was "bankrupt" due to maximum pressure sanctions during his presidency. Referring to Israeli military operations, including the destruction of the Islamic Republic's air defense systems and Hezbollah's communication equipment in Lebanon, he added, "Israel's attacks have really pushed Iran back and weakened them in a different way."
