During his election campaign, Trump prioritized immigration and promised to bring what he calls 'unprecedented order' to the southern U.S. borders and to initiate the largest operation to deport illegal immigrants on his first day in office. Throughout his campaign, he referred to immigration as a 'crisis' and vowed to quickly implement a series of controversial policies to limit illegal immigration and the entry of new immigrants. He recently appointed Rodney Scott, the former head of the Border Patrol, as the head of Customs and Border Protection, and Caleb Watlows, a veteran employee of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, as the director of this agency.
