Trump achieved the required threshold with 1,237 votes. His son stated, 'It is my honor to announce tonight that, with the counting of the votes, Donald Trump has met the necessary threshold.' On the second day of the Republican National Convention, House Speaker Paul Ryan, the highest-ranking elected Republican, presided over the session and oversaw the voting process to determine the party's final nominee. Following the threshold achievement, Paul Ryan announced Donald Trump as the Republican nominee for the presidential election on November 8 of this year. In response, Donald Trump tweeted, 'Being the Republican nominee for the U.S. presidency is a great honor for me. I will work hard and will not disappoint you. America first!' Donald Trump is scheduled to speak at the convention on Thursday. The Republican National Convention is currently taking place in Cleveland, Ohio. According to the report, following the defeat of Trump's opponents on Monday, the counting of votes from various states to determine the final nominee was on the agenda for the second day. Protesters on Monday evening at the Republican National Convention called for a re-vote but failed to secure the necessary votes. Tiffany Trump, Donald Trump's daughter, was another speaker on the second day of the Republican National Convention. In her speech, she discussed her father's role in her personal life. Additionally, Donald Trump Jr., Trump's eldest son, stated at the convention that Hillary Clinton is a danger that Americans will not be able to afford the cost of her presidency.
