Trump Released a Video of 'Wrestling with CNN'

The short clip was posted on July 2 and originates from several years ago when Donald Trump, a businessman from New York, participated in an American professional wrestling entertainment program. American professional wrestling is a type of entertainment program based on paid performances without a technical committee and is created and broadcast for fun. In part of the matches from 2007, in which Mr. Trump participated, he takes down a wrestler and beats him. In the released clip, the wrestler's face has been edited with the CNN logo, and the scene of beating a man with the CNN logo on his face is repeated. The Associated Press reports that it is unclear who edited this video for the President of the United States. The video is 28 seconds long and was published with the hashtag 'FraudNewsCNN' and the abbreviation 'FNN', both meaning 'fake news' in reference to CNN. Reports and analyses following this video indicate its message regarding the worsening relationship between the President of the United States and several American media outlets. CNN stated in a statement released after this Twitter post that this day was 'a sad day when the President of the United States encouraged violence against journalists.' According to Fox News, the executive director of the 'Committee to Protect Journalists' in the U.S. condemned the video, calling it 'a threat of physical violence against journalists' and stated that 'it is beneath the dignity of the office of the presidency' to release such a video. On the other hand, Tom Bossert, a White House homeland security advisor, said the media should not view this video as a threat. In an interview with ABC News, Mr. Bossert stated, 'But I think he (the President) has been subjected to such attacks from cable networks that he has the right to respond.' Mr. Trump himself tweeted, 'The lying media will never stop us from achieving the goals set by the great people of America.'
