Reports indicate that on Sunday, September 16, there was a shooting near Donald Trump, the Republican presidential candidate, in Florida, which is likely the second assassination attempt on him during the 2024 election campaign. Hours after reports of a possible assassination attempt on Trump, President Joe Biden posted on social media platform X that he had received information about the matter from his team and praised the actions of the 'Secret Service' and their law enforcement partners. On Monday, Biden emphasized that the Secret Service needs to receive 'more assistance' and stated that he does not yet have a 'complete report' on the incident from Sunday, expressing gratitude that Donald Trump is 'doing well.' Mike Johnson, Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, also reacted to the reports of a possible assassination attempt on Trump, stating, 'He is not going to back down from fighting for the American people, and it was really encouraging for us to meet with him immediately after this incident.' Kamala Harris, the U.S. Vice President and Trump's Democratic electoral rival, expressed her relief on social media shortly after the shooting report, stating that she is glad the former president was unharmed.
