According to the English section of Voice of America, the annual 'State of the Union' address allows the U.S. President to express his vision for the American economy, immigration policy, and the country's foreign policy. The report states that he will also discuss his decisions regarding workforce reductions in federal agencies and Washington's policy on the Ukraine war, defending them in his speech. The U.S. President is also expected to mention the ceasefire in Gaza during his address. Meanwhile, the most important issue for Donald Trump will be uniting Republicans in the Senate and House of Representatives to pass the U.S. government budget after the March 15 deadline. Republicans, who hold the majority in both chambers, have disagreements on certain issues, including the Medicaid program. Mr. Trump has called for 'a big, beautiful bill' to fund his domestic policy agenda. Earlier, Mike Johnson, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, told reporters last week: 'We have a tough road ahead, but we will implement the 'America First' agenda.' Meanwhile, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce announced on Tuesday that in response to this action, it would impose tariffs of up to 15% on its imports from the U.S. Additionally, Justin Trudeau, the Prime Minister of Canada, announced on Monday that Canada would impose 25% tariffs on imports from the U.S. starting Tuesday.
