Trump described the level of crime in America as 'unprecedented.' In his message, he expressed condolences to 'all innocent victims and their loved ones, including the brave officers of the New Orleans Police Department,' emphasizing the full support of the Trump administration for the city of New Orleans during the investigation into this 'absolutely wicked' act. Moments earlier, CBS reported, citing two federal officials, that the suspect in the 'terrorist act' early Wednesday in New Orleans, which resulted in the deaths of 10 people and injuries to at least 36 others, is a 42-year-old man named Shamsuddin Jabbar. Meanwhile, CNN reported, citing two law enforcement sources, that the suspect was carrying an ISIS flag at the time of the incident. One of these sources also told the network that several suspicious explosive devices were found inside a cooler in the truck used in the attack. Officials in New Orleans announced that the 'intentional' plowing into a large crowd by a speeding truck left at least 10 dead and over 30 injured. The New Orleans police chief stated at a news conference that a truck driver drove into the crowd early Wednesday morning during New Year celebrations, intending to run over a large number of people. About two weeks ago, a Saudi citizen killed five people, including a 9-year-old child, and injured over 200 others by plowing into a crowd at a Christmas market in Magdeburg, Germany.
