Turkish Bases in the Aleppo Countryside Targeted by Rockets from Syrian Democratic Forces

On Thursday night, November 3, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that rockets were fired from areas controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Syrian government in northern Aleppo towards Turkish military bases in five areas of the 'Euphrates Shield' in the Aleppo countryside. However, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, no casualties have been reported. Meanwhile, the extent of the damage caused by these attacks is unclear. The organization, based in London, also noted that in the 'Peace Spring' area, the Syrian Democratic Forces attacked a Turkish military base and posts of Ankara-backed militia groups in the vicinity of two villages in the northwestern countryside of Hasakah. These attacks occurred after Turkish air and ground forces targeted areas controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces and regions where Kurdish forces are stationed on Wednesday, November 2. Turkey's attacks focused on infrastructure, internal security force sites, oil stations, power plants, and factories. The Turkish air and ground assaults were also a response to an attack on Wednesday on the headquarters of the Turkish Aerospace Industries in Ankara, which the Turkish government attributed to the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK). The armed attack on the main headquarters of Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAS) near Ankara on Wednesday, November 2, left at least four dead and 14 injured. The armed attack on an aerospace center in Ankara is described by Turkey as a terrorist attack. Following the deadly attack in Ankara, Turkey targeted PKK positions in northern Iraq and Syria.
