Two Palestinian Militants Killed by Israeli Soldiers in West Bank

The Israeli army and the Hamas militant group announced that two Palestinian militants were killed in an Israeli raid in the West Bank. The Times of Israel reported that during this raid, border police entered a camp near the city of Tulkarm to arrest several suspects accused of a shooting on Tuesday in the West Bank that left one person injured. The Israeli army stated, "Two armed men were shot and killed after attempting to flee the scene." Social media images show Israeli forces searching for the bodies of the two men on the roof of a building. Hamas, which controls the Gaza Strip and has a significant presence in the West Bank, stated that these individuals were members of one of the group's militant branches. In their statement, they claimed that they were engaged in armed struggle against the Israeli army. The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that both men were 22 years old and died from gunshot wounds to their chest, neck, and abdomen. This incident occurred following border attacks between Israel and Gaza. The United States condemned terrorist attacks against Israel in the West Bank, three Palestinians "wanted" by the Israeli army were killed, Shin Bet reported that the Quds Force has been trying to recruit residents of the West Bank, and the European Union called for "restraint" from both Israel and the Palestinians. A deputy spokesperson for the U.S. State Department stated that the United States strongly condemns terrorist attacks in the West Bank and Tel Aviv.
