U.S. Congress Mandates Investigation into Ali Khamenei's Financial Corruption

Several members of the U.S. Congress have prepared a draft bill that requires the U.S. Secretary of State to disclose the estimated wealth and financial sources of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic and his family, in consultation with the Secretary of the Treasury and the Director of National Intelligence. This draft was presented by two Republican representatives, Joe Wilson and Kevin Hern. According to this draft, the State Department's report must include information such as assets, investments, and other financial and commercial interests of Ali Khamenei and all his family members. The necessity to examine the shares and relationships of Khamenei's family with institutions such as the Foundation of the Oppressed and Astan Quds Razavi is also included in this draft. If this bill is approved by Congress and signed by the President, the U.S. government must prepare a report on the wealth of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic 'no later than 180 days' after the bill's approval and publish this report on the U.S. government website.
