U.S. Special Representative for Iran Office Expresses Satisfaction with Yasmin Maqbali's Leadership in NASA's Space Mission

The head of the U.S. Special Representative for Iran Office expressed satisfaction with the presence of an "Iranian American" at the helm of the "Crew 7" space mission on the social media platform "X": "Yasmin Maqbali, an Iranian American, is the commander of the crew and the rest of the team on their way to the space station." The rocket carrying the astronauts of the "Crew 7" mission successfully launched towards the International Space Station on the morning of Saturday, August 25. Yasmin Maqbali, the Iranian American astronaut, commands this space mission, accompanied by astronauts from Denmark, Japan, and Russia. The "Falcon" rocket, built by SpaceX, launched the "Dragon" spacecraft into Earth orbit at 3:27 AM Eastern Time from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. According to the announced schedule, this spacecraft is expected to arrive at the International Space Station at 8:39 AM Eastern Time on Sunday, replacing four crew members who have been residing at this space center since March. This is Yasmin Maqbali's first space flight, which she believes can inspire Iranian girls to achieve their big dreams. In her exclusive interview with VOA Persian, she said: "If you want to do something or have a dream, strive to achieve it. Sometimes doing this or reaching that dream is very hard. Sometimes there are people who tell you it can't be done, but rest assured that if you really want it, there is always a way to reach that goal."
