U.S. State Department: The Islamic Republic Regime Has Waged War Against the People of Iran

The U.S. State Department has described the regime's suppression of widespread protests in Iran as a 'war' and an 'open threat' against the people. In a message posted on the Persian account of the U.S. State Department on X on Wednesday, January 21, images of a caravan of military trucks from the regime in the streets of Borujerd, Lorestan province, were observed. The message states: 'When green military truck convoys and machine guns line the streets of Lorestan and other areas of Iran, one thing is clear: the Islamic Republic regime does not protect the people of Iran; rather, it has waged war against them.' The message adds: 'This is not security; this is an open threat.' The U.S. State Department further emphasized, citing history, that 'the people of Iran, shaped by a rich culture and a legacy of standing up for human rights, will always resist oppression, no matter how great the threat.' Previously, the Persian account of the U.S. State Department on social media X wrote about the 'complete and nationwide internet shutdown in Iran,' stating that the Islamic Republic has deliberately isolated the people of Iran from the outside world and is hiding its brutal crackdown. The U.S. State Department stressed that 'the censorship of a nation cannot silence their voices for freedom and conceal the violent actions of the Islamic Republic regime.' The message concluded: 'The world is watching.' Donald Trump, the former President of the United States, previously stated on Saturday, January 17, 2025, in an interview with Politico regarding Ali Khamenei, the leader of the Islamic Republic, that the 'Ayatollah' is guilty of 'completely destroying his country' and that 'it is time to look for new leadership in Iran.' The former President had earlier warned the Islamic Republic about the massacre of protesters and their executions, stating that if the regime continues to kill protesters, the United States will take action. New images of the scale of repression and the shooting of officers at protesters in Iran have emerged. A member of the U.S. Congress stated: 'Putin and Khamenei are cancers of the civilized world.'
