Ukrainian President Orders Major Changes in War Management Against Russia

On Wednesday, September 4, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, issued an order for significant changes in the management of the war against Russia, aiming to create 'new energy.' Zelensky stated that Ukraine is at a critical stage of the war, leading to the replacement of nearly half of his cabinet members. A total of six cabinet ministers, including the Foreign Minister, resigned, with Parliament accepting the resignations of four of them. Ukrainian lawmakers noted that the Deputy Prime Minister responsible for European negotiations, the Minister of Strategic Industries overseeing Ukraine's arms production, and two other ministers also resigned. During a joint press conference with Simon Harris, the Prime Minister of Ireland, Zelensky mentioned that these changes are intended to strengthen the government in various areas. The Ukrainian Parliament is expected to review the resignation of the Foreign Minister on Thursday. Dmytro Kuleba, after Zelensky, was the most recognized political figure of Ukraine abroad, having met with many world leaders due to his proficiency in English. Analysts suggest that changes in the Ukrainian government had been in the works for some time but were delayed for various reasons, including negotiations with the West for military and financial assistance. A Kyiv-based analyst told Reuters that this is a planned move to change cabinet members, indicating that nearly half of the cabinet will change, which is Zelensky's method. According to this analyst, significant changes in Ukraine's foreign policy are not expected, and the new ministers will take over with more motivation and energy.
