UN Says Children's Hospital in Kyiv Likely Direct Target of Russian Missile

The United Nations states that there is a "high likelihood" that a children's hospital in Kyiv was directly hit by a missile launched by the "Russian Federation" yesterday. According to Agence France-Presse, Daniel Bell, head of the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine, says further investigations are needed, but he told reporters in Geneva that video footage "shows that the bomb directly impacted the hospital." The Kremlin denied Russia's involvement in the attack on Tuesday, claiming that the children's hospital in Kyiv was targeted by Ukraine's missile defense system. According to Reuters, Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin spokesperson, provided no evidence for this claim but told reporters: "I emphasize, we do not attack civilian targets." Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that in nearly 40 missile attacks targeting several cities and towns, 38 people, including four children, were killed and 190 were injured.
