Uncertainty Surrounding Hooman Seyedali and Reza Arabpour, Detainees of 'Women, Life, Freedom' Protests

The human rights organization "Hengaw" reported on the situation of two detainees from the "Women, Life, Freedom" protests, stating that Reza Arabpour has spent over one year and seven months, and Hooman Seyedali has spent one year and six months in uncertainty at Shiban Prison in Ahvaz. According to Hengaw, these two detained protesters are from Izeh in Khuzestan province, and after more than a year and a half of imprisonment, a hearing for Reza Arabpour's charges will be held in the coming days. The report indicates that the court session for this detained protester has raised concerns among activists and human rights organizations, as the charges against Reza Arabpour include "moharebeh (waging war against God), corruption on earth, and forming a rebellious group," which could lead to severe sentences such as the death penalty. Published reports show that the Islamic Revolutionary Court in Khuzestan has charged several protesters, including Bahman Bahmani, Mohsen Ahmadpour, Behrouz Salhashour, Rasoul Badaghi, Vahid Abbasi, Sadegh Ghasemi, and Ismail Mousavi Nazari, alongside Reza Arabpour in a joint case related to the nationwide protests in Izeh with similar charges. This court also handled the charges against Mojahid Korkori, a resident of Izeh, in late Esfand 1401, who was ultimately charged with "moharebeh and corruption on earth" by the public prosecutor and sentenced to death. Mojahid Korkori was accused of killing several citizens, including Kian Pirfalak, a child who lost his life during the nationwide protests in 1401 in Izeh, although the Pirfalak family has repeatedly denied Korkori's involvement in Kian Pirfalak's death. The report emphasizes that Hooman Seyedali is also approaching his nineteenth month of detention while remaining in uncertainty. According to the report, Seyedali was arrested by the IRGC intelligence during the protests of the "Women, Life, Freedom" movement in mid-Aban 1401 and transferred to Shiban Prison.
