Uncertainty Surrounds the Status of Abolfazl Adinehzadeh's Father Eight Days After Arrest

The mother of Abolfazl Adinehzadeh, who was killed during the "Women, Life, Freedom" protests in 2022, states that she has no information about her husband’s status eight days after his arrest, and judicial officials are not providing answers. Ali Adinehzadeh, Abolfazl's father, was arrested and transferred to Quchan prison on Wednesday, July 3, after being summoned to court. This news was announced by his daughter, Marzieh. On Wednesday, July 10, in a video shared on her Instagram page, Mrs. Adinehzadeh referred to the two years since her 16-year-old son was killed, saying, "Instead of finding my child's killer, they arrested my husband." Two days before his arrest, Mr. Adinehzadeh had posted a picture of a summons from the first branch of the Revolutionary Court in Quchan on his Instagram story. Abolfazl Adinehzadeh, 16, was killed on Saturday, October 8, 2022, during protests following the death of Mahsa Amini, shot at close range by the Islamic Republic's security forces, hit by dozens of pellet bullets. According to human rights organizations, over five hundred people were killed by the Islamic Republic's security forces during the nationwide "Women, Life, Freedom" protests. The Islamic Republic has not only failed to hold accountable those responsible for this massacre but has also arrested and executed other protesters accused of killing its security forces during these protests, increasing pressure on the families of the victims.
