Unpublished Excerpts from Ayatollah Khomeini's Will

Note: These are unpublished and censored sections of Ayatollah Khomeini's will that have reached us through divine assistance. All my dear and young children and others should know that in our dear, good, and spiritual country, all problems and calamities are due to the crimes of the eras of Reza and Mohammad Reza, the Qajar, Achaemenid, Sasanian, and the cursed Medes, and others. God willing, this system that I have established will progress in such a way that no calamity will befall our country. That is, after we, God willing, provide electricity, water, food, land, and such things for free, we will also make calamities forbidden and free so that the Islamic community remains under our banner to the utmost. One of the wishes of this old father to the officials and my dear children in positions of authority is that in times of calamity and non-calamity, they should not lose their composure and remain in control. Whenever calamity befell our country, we did not lose ourselves and were in control. For example, when the infidel Saddam Yazeed attacked the country, we did not lose ourselves and were in control. When they said to come and make peace, we did not lose ourselves. When chemical weapons were used and young people suffered, we were on guard and did not relent. When missiles were fired and some of our children were buried under rubble, we were in control of the situation and steadfast. Do not lose yourselves at all. A true revolutionary does not lose himself in such times until a solution is found. There were a few times when finding a solution took a little longer, and my dear Ahmad, who has a special mastery of my handwriting, wrote something on my behalf, and fortunately, the problem was solved. So do not lose yourselves in such times; solutions will present themselves, and there is no fear in this. During a crisis, the esteemed religious seminaries and the revered scholars have a very important duty. One of the reasons and roots of these calamities and non-calamities is the sins of a handful of sinners and enemies, as well as America, Israel, and spies. The esteemed scholars should keep in mind that they must compensate for the shortcomings, sins, and immoralities of the remaining classes and try to make amends by repeatedly reciting sacred invocations, prayers, elegies, intercessions, reliance, contemplation, investigation, reflection, and transformation to prevent calamities and non-calamities. Therefore, I advise the esteemed seminaries not to go to disaster-stricken areas at all, because calamity does not distinguish between the religiously learned and the unlearned; it takes everyone, and their presence behind the calamity is needed more, as we suffer from behind the calamity.
