US Air Force Official: The Missile Fired Towards Riyadh Was Iranian

A senior US Air Force official in the Persian Gulf region stated that the ballistic missile fired from Yemen towards the capital of Saudi Arabia was Iranian, with "Iranian signs" observed on its body. General Jeffrey Harrigian, who oversees the US Air Force Command in Qatar, announced this on Friday, November 10, during a press conference in Dubai. This senior American commander also mentioned that officials are investigating how this missile was transferred to Yemen, especially since the airspace, ports, and borders of the country are under the control of the Saudi-led Arab coalition. According to an Associated Press report, following the missile launch that was intercepted less than a week ago near Riyadh, the Saudi Foreign Ministry announced that investigators found evidence indicating "the role of the Iranian government in its construction" by examining the remnants of the missile. This statement did not provide further details but mentioned that the discovered evidence was similar to evidence found after a missile launch in early July of this year. Iran has denied involvement in missile attacks from Yemen, with the Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps stating that Iran cannot send missiles to Yemen and that the Houthis possess the technology to manufacture these missiles themselves. Meanwhile, Emmanuel Macron, the President of France, stated that the missile fired towards Saudi Arabia is "clearly" Iranian. In addition to Macron, Nikki Haley, the US Ambassador to the United Nations, also accused Tehran of providing the missile that Houthi rebels fired at Saudi Arabia in July. The Houthi militants claim that the ballistic missile launched, which they named "Volcano One," was "locally made" in Yemen. However, some media outlets close to the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, including the Tasnim news agency, previously reported "citing Yemeni media" about the launch of missiles, primarily made in Iran, such as "Zelzal 3" by the Houthis. The political office of the Houthis in Yemen announced on November 7 that "all airports, ports, border crossings, and significant areas of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates will be direct targets of our weapons." Earlier, the Kayhan newspaper, which is overseen by a representative of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic, warned that "Dubai is the next target." This has faced protests from the Press Supervisory Board against several media outlets within Iran. Tehran has never concealed its verbal support for the Yemeni rebels, specifically the group known as "Ansar Allah," which includes the Houthis, but denies reports regarding the transfer or delivery of weapons to them.
