There are about six weeks left until the US presidential election, which will undoubtedly determine the fate of many, especially the political fate of the two final rivals in the race for the White House. In this short time remaining, various polls are painting pictures of possibilities. A joint poll by NBC and The Wall Street Journal published on Wednesday, September 21, indicates that even in a four-person race with two weaker candidates and the Republican candidate, Hillary Clinton has a 6% lead over Donald Trump. Two weeks prior, in another joint poll by these two reputable media outlets that included Gary Johnson, the Libertarian candidate, and Dr. Jill Stein, the Green Party candidate, Clinton was ahead of the candidates by 9% in early August and by 6% in mid-July. Two strategists, Democratic strategist Fred Yang and Republican strategist Bill McInturf, who conducted these polls on behalf of NBC and The Wall Street Journal, state that despite several unfavorable weeks for Hillary Clinton, all signs of victory are in her favor. Donald Trump has narrowed the gap with Clinton since August, but according to Republican strategist Bill McInturf, Trump is on a path to defeat, with the only hopeful aspect for him being a weak majority of voters who agree with him that America has lost its global standing and needs change. Another poll conducted among US military personnel shows that soldiers prefer Donald Trump or even Gary Johnson over Hillary Clinton. The Military Times, which conducted this survey, published it on the same day as the joint NBC and Wall Street Journal poll, stating that nearly 40% of military personnel accept Donald Trump and just over 14% accept Gary Johnson for commander-in-chief. 5.5% of military personnel also had no plans to participate in the election. Interestingly, among military officers, Gary Johnson, the former governor of New Mexico, has 38.6% support, more than the two major party candidates. The number of supporters for Hillary Clinton among military elites is about 28%, while Donald Trump has only 26%. Dr. Jill Stein has only half a percent of the vote. This poll involved 2,200 personnel from the US military, conducted jointly by Military Times and a research center related to former military personnel and their families at Syracuse University. Meanwhile, The New York Times reported on Saturday that those who previously financially supported Republican campaigns like Jeb Bush, John Kasich, and Chris Christie are now closer to Clinton's campaign than to Trump. The collection of what has been presented by educational institutions or various media so far emphasizes the likelihood of Clinton's victory in the upcoming election; however, the results of the voting could ultimately present a different picture.
