US Green Card Lottery - 2003-11-03. Every year, the US government grants approximately 50,000 free green cards to individuals born in various countries through a lottery system. Every year, Iranians residing in Iran and abroad participate in this lottery and win. Participation in this lottery is free of charge and has no cost. The only requirement is to have a high school diploma or two years of relevant work experience in one of the jobs approved by the US Department of Labor within the last five years. There are no age restrictions. Each person can only fill out one form in their name, and married couples can each submit a separate form, thus doubling their chances. New changes this year: 1- This year, there is no need to send and post the form as the US government has computerized everything, and you must fill out the form on your computer monitor and attach your photo. 2- This year, there is no need to sign the form. 3- This year, the period for filling out and submitting electronic forms has changed from one month to two months, and the special green card form page will only be active from Saturday, November 1, 2003, to Tuesday, December 30, 2003. 4- The registration form address is as follows: http://www.dvlottery.state.gov. You can fill out the form from November 1 to the end of December 2003 and send it along with your photo. 5- After submitting the form and reviewing the entered information, by clicking the Submit Form button, the site will notify you with a message about receiving and saving your form at a specific date and time. It should be noted that a separate email will not be sent to you. 6- There are no government fees for participating in this lottery, and it is completely free, but if you win, a letter will be sent to your mailing address from the US government between May and July 2004, and you will incur costs during the interview. 7- If you do not win, no letter or email will be sent to you. 8- The requested information in the registration form is similar to previous years, including first and last name, date of birth, city, province, and country of birth, your current mailing address, marital status, and gender. Phone and email are not mandatory, but you may add them if you wish. 9- All individuals born in Iran from around the world, including Iranians within the US, can participate in this lottery. Photo specifications: The photo must be digital and in JPEG format. Photos can be in color or grayscale, but monochrome photos with a 2-bit color depth will not be accepted. The size and resolution of the photos must be 240x320 pixels, and the color depth must be 8 bits or 24 bits color and 8 bits grayscale. If you are scanning your photo, its size must be 2 inches by 2 inches (or 50mm by 50mm), and its resolution must be 150 dpi. The largest size of the photo you send must not exceed 62500 bytes. Photos with hijabs are acceptable, but the person's face must be fully visible and facing the camera. Military and hat-wearing photos will not be accepted. Group photos for family members are not acceptable, and the applicant's photo, their spouse, and unmarried children under 21 must each be submitted separately.
