US Warning: Iran's Plot Against Trump is a Declaration of War Against This Country

A US official stated that the United States has warned the Islamic Republic of Iran to stop all its plots against Donald Trump. This American official told Reuters on Monday, October 15, that Washington has indicated to the Iranian government that any plot against Mr. Trump's life would be considered 'an act of war.' The official, who requested anonymity, added that the President of the United States is regularly informed about the Islamic Republic's plots against Donald Trump's life and has instructed his team to address this matter. The report indicates that following President Joe Biden's directive, senior American officials have conveyed messages to the highest levels of the Iranian government, warning them to cease all plots against Mr. Trump and other former American officials. The American official added that in this message to the highest levels of the Iranian government, it was stated that Washington would regard any attempt against Mr. Trump's life as 'an act of war.' This American warning comes on the eve of the US presidential elections, during which Donald Trump will compete against Kamala Harris, the Democratic Party's nominee and current Vice President Joe Biden. Mr. Trump's campaign announced on September 25 that senior US intelligence officials had informed Donald Trump of threats posed by the Islamic Republic of Iran. He himself wrote on X that day, after an intelligence briefing, 'There have been major threats against my life from Iran.' In response to Mr. Trump's campaign statement, the White House emphasized that the US has been closely monitoring threats originating from the Iranian government against Mr. Trump for years and has warned the Islamic Republic about the consequences of attacks on American citizens' lives. Trump stated that if Iran wants to harm him, it should be 'torn to pieces.' Sean Savett, spokesperson for the National Security Council, recently stated that Iran's 'brazen threats' against Mr. Trump and other former American officials are 'a matter of national and domestic security' with 'the highest priority.' According to this White House official, American agencies are continuously and rapidly completing details of intelligence regarding threats against Mr. Trump, and Joe Biden has reiterated his directive to US intelligence to utilize all necessary resources, facilities, and protective measures to counter the increasing threats against Donald Trump. Donald Trump, John Bolton, who served as National Security Advisor during Trump's presidency, and Mike Pompeo, the then Secretary of State, are among the figures for whom the US has reported plots from Iran to kill them. Senior officials of the FBI and the US Department of Justice have also issued multiple statements regarding this matter and have disclosed details of plots attributed to Iran. Washington emphasizes that Iran's attempts to assassinate American officials have intensified following the killing of the then-commander of the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. Qassem Soleimani was killed on January 3, 2020, by a drone strike ordered by Donald Trump. The Iranian representation at the United Nations has denied previous reports regarding Tehran's plot to kill Mr. Trump. Donald Trump has survived at least two assassination attempts during his current campaign for a return to the White House; on July 14 of this year, bullets fired by 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks passed near his brain and neck, and one bullet injured his ear. The second assassination attempt occurred on September 16 near Mr. Trump's golf course in Florida, where the perpetrator, 58-year-old Ryan Wesley Roth, was arrested as someone who had previously called for Trump's assassination in his statements and a book. The Washington Post reported last week that Mr. Trump's campaign has requested increased security measures at his rallies in the final weeks of the campaign, flight restrictions, and armed vehicles and aircraft to protect the movement of his convoy.
