USA: We Will Not Participate in Iran's Negotiations with Three European Countries

The spokesperson for the U.S. State Department announced that the U.S. will not participate in the upcoming negotiations between Iran and three European countries. Matthew Miller stated on Monday evening, December 5, that the U.S. is not involved in these talks and once again called for Iran's immediate cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). He also added that Washington continues its communications and collaborations with the three European parties to the JCPOA, aiming for the full implementation of nuclear safeguard commitments by Iran and holding Iran accountable for its failure to meet these commitments. Tehran and London have confirmed that negotiations between the deputies of the foreign ministries of Iran and the three countries—France, Britain, and Germany—will take place on Friday, December 9. According to reports, these talks will be held in Geneva, with Enrique Mora from the European Union and Majid Takht-Ravanchi from Iran in attendance. These negotiations come about ten days after the IAEA Board of Governors issued a reprimanding resolution against Iran, calling for Tehran's immediate cooperation with the agency. Matthew Miller expressed concern during a press conference regarding Iran's actions, stating that instead of cooperating with the agency, Iran is choosing to escalate tensions. He remarked that the continued production and storage of uranium enriched to 60% has no credible civilian justification. Miller also criticized remarks by Ali Khamenei, who deemed the arrest warrant for the Israeli Prime Minister as 'insufficient' and called for 'a death sentence for him,' stating that such comments are unfortunately what one would expect from a leader of a country that supports terrorism.
