Users' Reactions to the Explosion of Hezbollah's Communication Equipment; From Joy to Doubt About Its Impact

The series of explosions of communication tools belonging to Hezbollah members in Lebanon, which recently resulted in the deaths and injuries of thousands of this group's members, has garnered widespread attention from both Iranian and non-Iranian users on social media. Salman Sima, a former political prisoner residing abroad, shared an old video of Iranian and Israeli residents dancing and celebrating in Canada on his 'X' page, stating: 'This is the feeling of Iranians and Israelis after the killing of over 32 members of the terrorist group Hezbollah and the loss of sexual ability of more than 3,500 of them.' In this highly viewed video, which has been seen hundreds of thousands of times since September 19, men and women holding flags of Israel, the Lion and Sun, and Canada are seen dancing and celebrating. Some users interpreted the joy of a wide range of people as a sign of their resistance against terrorist and extremist institutions. A user named Pal responded: 'It is very important that Israelis, Jews, Arabs, Christians, Iranians, and all moderate people of the world continue to dance and empathize with each other against terrorist and extremist institutions.' Another user named Mahmoud Samih called Israel's victory 'illusory' and questioned the joy stemming from it, writing: 'Have the residents of the northern settlements returned to the north [of Israel]? No. Has targeting Hezbollah and missile attacks stopped? No. Where is this victory?' Since the terrorist attack by Hamas on southern Israel on October 7, 2023, Hezbollah has also entered the war and has continuously fired rockets into northern Israel, causing thousands of Israelis to leave their homes in the north of the country. Israel has stated that it will ensure security in its northern regions by any means necessary, whether diplomatic or military. Another user named Dan G, who introduced himself as a molecular biology expert, expressed hope for a free and secure Israel and an Iran free from oppression. He wrote: 'There is hope for a free and secure Israel and an Iran liberated from the oppressor.' Some other users reminded that this relates to the joy of Iranians after the death of Ebrahim Raisi, the president of the thirteenth government of the Islamic Republic, and has no connection to the recent explosions of pagers and radios. As a result of the explosions of pagers and radios belonging to Hezbollah members in recent days, at least 37 people have been killed and more than 3,000 injured. While the Lebanese government and Hezbollah, along with the Islamic Republic and Hamas, another group supported by Tehran, have accused Israel of carrying out these actions, the country has not yet confirmed or denied it. A senior member of Hezbollah was killed in an Israeli airstrike in Beirut. Taiwan and Bulgaria denied involvement in the purchase or sale of the exploded pagers in Lebanon. The United States expressed concern over the escalation of tensions between Israel and Hezbollah. Taipei: The parts of the exploded pagers in Lebanon and Syria were not made in Taiwan.
