Victory in 'Super Tuesday'; Biden and Trump Move Closer to the 2024 Presidential Election

Joe Biden and Donald Trump, the current and former Presidents of the United States, moved closer to the 2024 presidential election following the primary elections of the Democratic and Republican parties on Tuesday, March 6. According to Voice of America, both Biden and Trump won nearly all contests for their respective party nominations in several states across the U.S. Reports indicate that Joe Biden won in 15 states that held Democratic primary elections, including Virginia, Texas, Minnesota, and Colorado. Donald Trump has also won in 13 states so far. Meanwhile, Biden does not face a strong challenger within the Democratic Party. He warned that another Trump presidency would mean 'chaos, division, and darkness,' referring to the upcoming presidential election in November this year, on November 6. He stated, 'Today, millions of voters across the country made their voices heard and showed they are ready to confront Donald Trump's extreme plan to take us backward.' In contrast, Donald Trump, speaking to his supporters in Florida, noted that the United States has suffered greatly over the past three years, referencing Biden's economic and immigration policies. Having lost to Biden in the 2020 presidential election, Trump referred to the November election as 'the most important day in our country's history.' On Tuesday, Trump won Republican primaries in California, Colorado, Maine, Minnesota, North Carolina, and Texas. Meanwhile, Nikki Haley, former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations and Trump's rival, only won in Vermont on Tuesday. Haley had previously won in Washington state on Sunday, March 5. The final candidates for the Democratic and Republican parties are set to be officially announced at conventions in July of next year. Trump's lead in the Republican camp raises the question of whether Haley will withdraw after 'Super Tuesday.' Millions of Americans are heading to the polls in 15 states for 'Super Tuesday.'
