White House: Student Visas for 'All Hamas Supporters' in the U.S. Will Be Revoked

A White House official announced the revocation of student visas for all 'Hamas supporters on college campuses' and the prosecution of those accused of committing anti-Semitic crimes. According to Reuters, a White House official stated on Wednesday that Donald Trump, the President of the United States, is committed to issuing an executive order to combat anti-Semitism, which will include the expulsion of non-American students and other foreign nationals residing in the U.S. who participated in pro-Palestinian protests. The report indicates that Trump will instruct the Department of Justice to 'vigorously prosecute threats of terrorism, arson, property destruction, and violence against American Jews.' According to a fact sheet related to this executive order, the President emphasized: 'We warn all foreign residents [non-U.S. citizens] who have participated in protests supporting jihadists that by the year 2025, we will find you and expel you.' Trump added: 'I will also immediately revoke the student visas of all Hamas supporters on college campuses that have been unprecedentedly infected with radicalism.' A number of students supporting Palestinian groups occupied a building at Columbia University in New York in protest against the war in Gaza earlier this year. The war between Israel and Hamas, along with other Palestinian militant groups, began after a terrorist attack by Hamas, a group supported by the Islamic Republic of Iran, on October 7 of last year. In that terrorist attack, 1,200 people, mostly civilians, were killed, and over 250 others, including the elderly, women, and children, were taken hostage to Gaza. Following this terrorist attack, Israel launched an offensive in Gaza to destroy Hamas and free all the kidnapped hostages. According to Israeli estimates, many of the hostages have lost their lives, and dozens remain in Hamas captivity. The United States, the European Union, Israel, and several other countries and international organizations classify Hamas as a terrorist group.
