In the past week, the family and close associates of Mohammad Ali Taheri, the founder of the Circle of Mysticism in Iran, have expressed concern about his health status, stating that Iranian authorities are not providing any information regarding his condition and whereabouts. Meanwhile, dozens of supporters of Mohammad Ali Taheri protested last week outside the Baqiyatallah Hospital in Tehran, where he has reportedly been transferred, demanding information about his status. This gathering faced a crackdown by security forces, resulting in the arrest of several participants. Reza Shahini, an Iranian-American citizen imprisoned in Iran, has been sentenced to 18 years in prison on charges of 'collaborating with a hostile government.' He has stated that he will go on a hunger strike until it leads to either his freedom or death. Labor activists Jafar Azimzadeh and Shapour Ehsani Rad have each been sentenced to 11 years in prison on charges of 'establishing the Free Workers Union of Iran and propaganda against the regime.' Golrokh Ebrahimi Iraee, a writer and human rights activist, was also arrested and sent to prison last week, sentenced to six years for insulting sacred beliefs.
