Worsening Health of Vrishe Moradi on the Fifteenth Day of Hunger Strike in Evin Prison

The Kurdistan Human Rights Network reported that the health condition of Vrishe Moradi, a member of the Free Women of Eastern Kurdistan, has deteriorated on the fifteenth day of her hunger strike. According to the human rights network, Ms. Moradi has experienced severe weight loss over the past 15 days and her health condition has worsened due to low blood pressure, migraines, joint pain, and back pain. As a result, the medical staff at Evin Prison has described her continued hunger strike as dangerous and has urged her to end it. News and human rights sources reported on Thursday, October 11, that this political prisoner stated she is conducting an 'indefinite hunger strike' in protest against the increase in the issuance and execution of death sentences in Iran, as well as in protest against her own uncertainty and the deprivations she faces. Vrishe Moradi, a political prisoner charged with 'Baghi' for her membership in one of the Kurdish opposition parties to the Islamic Republic, is currently imprisoned. Her first court session was held on June 17 of this year in Branch 15 of the Islamic Revolutionary Court, presided over by Abolqasem Salavati, with the presence of her lawyers, and the second session took place on October 6. Ms. Moradi was arrested by the Islamic Republic's intelligence agents on July 31 of last year in the suburbs of Sanandaj and was transferred to Tehran. She was moved from Ward 209 of Evin Prison to the women's ward after her interrogation period ended. Ms. Moradi spent 5 months of her 6-month detention in solitary confinement in the detention centers of the Sanandaj Intelligence Department and Ward 209 of Evin Prison in Tehran.
