Yashar Tabrizi, Civil Activist, Arrested by the IRGC

Yashar Tabrizi, a political and civil activist in Tabriz, was arrested on Tuesday morning, November 29, after being summoned to the IRGC's Intelligence Organization in East Azerbaijan Province. According to a report published on Yashar Tabrizi's X account, this constitutional activist presented himself to the IRGC's Intelligence Office in Tabriz at around eight in the morning, which led to his arrest. The report emphasized that 'the mobile phone of Mr. Tabrizi's wife' is also in the possession of the IRGC's Intelligence Organization. In a message received by Voice of America, Yashar Tabrizi stated that 'after a raid on his home and the confiscation of his mobile phone on November 23, and an illegal summons' to the IRGC's Intelligence Organization, he went to the agency's headquarters in Tabriz on Monday, November 28, where he was told to 'report at eight o'clock the next day.' This constitutional activist asserted: 'I declare; I will neither give a commitment nor sign a confession, but I will firmly defend my political positions regarding the constitutional system, the demands for the right to self-determination, and my demands for the freedom of all political prisoners.' He also stated: 'I am in complete mental and physical health. I have no intention of self-harm or suicide. Rather, I am fighting for a worthy life for myself and Iranian citizens.' He emphasized, 'Without a doubt, as long as the Islamic Republic governs this country, the lives of all of us from every class are in danger.'
