Zeynab Zaman Sentenced to One Year in Prison and Five-Year Travel Ban

Zeynab Zaman, a women's rights activist, was sentenced on Monday, August 7, by Branch 26 of the Revolutionary Court to one year of imprisonment and a five-year travel ban for "propaganda activities against the Islamic Republic of Iran." According to Abuzar Zaman, Zeynab's brother and her lawyer, this women's rights activist was also sentenced to "prohibition from membership in political and social groups, abstaining from using a smartphone, and refraining from communication or socializing with others except for familial relations."
